The Recursive Mirror
If reality contains itself, then so do you. This experiment helps you feel the recursion instead of only thinking about it.
The Practice
- 01
Find a quiet place with a notebook.
- 02
Write: ‘I am aware that I am aware.’ Read it aloud.
- 03
Now write: ‘I am aware that I am aware that I am aware.’ Notice the loop.
- 04
Ask: who is the observer of the observer? Sit with the question. Don't answer it.
- 05
Write down whatever arises — even nonsense.
- 06
Close the notebook. The point isn't an answer. The point is feeling the structure.
Self-reference is the engine of consciousness. The deeper you go, the more the boundary between observer and observed softens.
